Classics are called classics for a reason; and not talking about those classics would be nothing short of a treason. Here we are, to not keep you off the most essential watches of Bollywood; ten Bollywood movies that never get .
10. Chak De! India
This piece of brilliance was released when the sport genre was unfound and undeveloped by the Bolly directors. This one classic single, all by itself, changed the view of India and Indian’s towards its national sport Hockey. We can vouch, no girl walked out of the cinema not wanting to be a hockey player like those in the movie. Three hours of absolute delight and the “sattar minute hai tumhare paas” speech is forever etched in our hearts.
9. Chupke Chupke
Hrishikesh Mukherjee, possibly the best comedy director of Bollywood, gave us the classic comedy to cherish forever. The excellent screenplay, engaging scenes, fabulous acting by the leads and the package of entertainment would possibly never even be a successful remake. The kind of humour that Chupke Chupke has pulled off, it would only be fair to say, is lost in the kind of comedy we see today.
8. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron
The cult classic, a dark satire on the contemporary politics of the country, the movie was as big a success more so due to the actors and their unparalleled chemistry. Starred by Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapoor and Om Puri, this one was actually one of those which were not really liked initially. However, have good things ever been successfully ignored? It took its times but eventually, found its way to mark as a successful cult classic.
6. Andaz Apna Apna
We do not get to see anymore of Amar Prem chemistry because no duo can possibly ever do it they way Salman and Amir did. But then again, if you really revisit the movie now, you would experience to have undergone an evolution. Because of the new form of jokes and lines that humour us, Andaz Apna Apna is better left where it is and should never be a remake attempt.
O baazigar, sabke dilon ka baazigar. The plot twist that this movie has had is sheer classic and a piece of brilliance at the hands of the director. All of ours childhood favourite, the movie is unforgettable as it is only because of the real Baazigar: Shah Rukh Khan. Do you still remember the balcony sequence as fresh as we do?
You know a movie is an unforgettable classic pieceof all times when they make a 3D version out of it and that becomes a hit too. This one was a blockbuster then, it is a blockbuster now and it will remain to be so for decades to come. Classic never get old and basanti kutton ko saamne kabhi nahi naachegi.
3. Mughal E Azam
Director K. Asif’s enormous cast, opulent sets, minutely designed costumes and extravagantly staged battle scenes made the film the most expensive ever produced in India during those days. However, despite all the plush and pomp, the film has a particular warmth to it. The essential dangers of the romance between Anarkali and Saleem follow too. This movie is might and powerful because of the dialogues as much as because of the Emperor Akbar’s character.
2. Jab We Met
Well, Geet apni khud ki sabse favourite hai and this movie, hamariall time favourite. The character of Geet was so fresh, relatable and staple that once infused with romance, there was no going back. Indian young adults needed a fresh wave of romance and the director hit the
tunes just right.
1.Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge
Well, bade bade shehron mein aisi choti choti baatei ek baar he hoti hain par fir hamehsa ke liye reh jaati hain! A classic Bollywood about the difficulty found love between household names Raj & Simran,Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge sure is a cult classic and it can never get old.If you think about it, the story is actually pretty usual but there happens to be a particular kind of magic and that magic is what we all yearn for!
