What does Ajay Devgn want to ‘Raid’ in 2018? Junta is asking this question again and again after a scene from Ajay Devgn’s trailer went viral in YouTube. After director Rajkumar Gupta unveiled the first look of the movie ‘Raid’, the viewers have been going ga-ga over one particular scene which is like a battle of nerves between Saurabh Shukla and Ajay Devgun.
In this latest venture, Ajay plays the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax from Lucknow who is on the mission to bring down ‘Tauji’ Saurabh Shukla who is corruption incarnate. The idea is to retrieve all the illegal money in his house. Well, the scene in question which has made an impact on the audience finds a defiant Saurabh throwing a challenge to Ajay where he says ‘andar toh aagaye…bahar kaise jaoge?’
Some of the other characters who will be seen in pivotal roles in this movie include Ileana D’Cruz. This film is based on a real-life incident set in the 1980’s. However, Ajay says that it is challenging to essay the role of a real-life hero because even with the punch lines, the challenge was to follow the character as realistically as possible’. The film makers have interacted with real life income tax officers who operated during those times to establish the role with realistic undertones.
Ajay Devgn who has been known to set benchmarks in the industry in recent times with a number of interesting ventures like in Drishyam feels that it is extremely important to ‘stay relevant’ in an industry where content is ever-changing. The movie which is slated for a March 16 release has already garnered positive response from the audience. It is time to see if Ajay can strike gold at box office.
