It is definitely a casting coup. Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bacchan team after 26 years for 102 Not Out which promises to be a laugh riot. The duo has been seen in movies like ‘Kabhie Kabhie’, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Coolie’, Ajooba, and ‘Naseeb’.
This movie will be based on writer Saumya Joshi’s immensely successful Gujrati play with the same name. This movie will see Mr. Bachchan in the role of a 102-year old father with Rishi playing the role of his 75-year old son. Post Kapoor & Sons, Rishi will be seen donning the cap of the old man. The trailer of this movie has already garnered enough interest among audience who would love to see this duo in an interesting combination. Two of the strongest actors of the yesteryear who have been known to have some differences in their heyday will be pitched against each other. But by the first looks of the movie, the narrative promises to be a chilled-our drama between two old men.
According to Senior Bacchan, ‘ the country loves the younger, fresh and vibrant new generation, but who ever said that the ‘oldies’ are not capable to do similar…given a chance we shall not disappoint you either’. Both the actors feel that this movie is going to bring back a lot of fond memories.
This film will be directed by Umesh Shukla of ‘Oh My God’ fame. As this play is based on a Gujarati play, the movie will see both the actors talking in Gujarati as well. The movie which is slated for a release within a month will be an interesting watch, not only because of the collaboration of the two actors, but also because of the narrative. Can two old men create a dazzle which will impress the youngsters?
