Biggest Controversies of Bollywood in 2018

Year 2018 has started on an extremely controversial note for Bollywood. The release of Padmavat saw many hiccups, but eventually the film released after omitting an I in the name and many more cuts in the movie. But this is not the end. Although only 3 months have gone by; but Bollywood had its fair share of controversies. Here are our top 4 picks.

Aiyaary may not have garnered brilliant response from the audience, but that does not mean that it will be fortunate enough not to be embroiled in controversies as well. In less than a week from its release, Aiyaary landed in trouble with the Defense Minister. The makers were asked to make some minor changes in the movie which was done satisfactorily. Aiyaary also had a close tiff with the makers of Padman as well.

Although Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan had impressed us immensely with Tiger Zinda Hain, they were caught in a controversy when they made a casteist remark in a reality show during the promotions of the movie. Unfortunately, the duo had to face the flaks from all sections, and the matter was listed for consideration in the month of February.

The fearless Bhai of Bollywood has recently faced a death threat from Lawrence Bishnoi who has said that Salman Khan will be killed in Jodhpur. A few days ago, some armed men reached the sets of Race 3. The shoot was cancelled and Salman was escorted home. Although later an announcement was made by Jordy Patel about Salman leaving the sets and the shoot being stopped, Mr. Salim Khan, Salman’s father mentioned that Salman has a good team of security personnel. And it is not the first time that Salman has been facing such threats.

One of the fearless divas of Bollywood Kangana Ranaut accused Karan Johar of  nepotism in his own show ‘Koffee with Karan’ which of course did not go well with the director. It sparked a debate about nepotism in the industry. The coffee spilled so much, that it Saif and Varun even endorsed the act of nepotism by saying ‘Nepotism rocks’ which attracted widespread criticism. The actors later apologized for their act. This was in news even in 2018.
