Get over Spiderman and Superman, your favorite family of superheroes are back! And this time the youngest member Jack-Jack will amuse the audience with his superpowers, the slight hint of which was given in the first franchise of ‘The Incredibles’. As the first trailer of the movie is released, Pixar has confirmed that the sequel of the successful animation movie will hit the theatres in 2018.
The film will start from where the first movie ended. The sequel will concentrate more on Elastigirl and Jack-Jack, the youngest member of the superhero family will be facing a few unfortunate incidents as he still has to learn to control his superpowers. Fans are super-excited about this sequel which will release 13 years after the first movie.
The voiceovers will be done by the original cast like Craig T. Nelson for Bob Parr, Holly Hunter as Helen Parr, Sarah Vowell as Violet, Huck Milner as Dash, Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone or Lucius Best and Brad Bird as Edna Mode. Although the details of the plot were not divulged much, it would be interesting to see how Pixar would frame the story this time around Helen Parr. There will be a few new members in the voice cast: Catherine Keener, Bob Odenkirk and John Ratzenberger.
Written and directed by Brad Bird, the film will see Bob in a new avatar, the stay-at-home Dad who will be watching the children and Helen will assume her husband’s role as the crime-fighter. This role reversal will be quite interesting for the audience as per the director, who feels that it is the ‘family dynamics’ of this superhero franchise which has kept the interest intact about this movie. The story will pick from the introduction of The Underminer who appeared at the end of the first movie.
The Incredibles 2 is all likely to release on June 21st, 2018. Although fans of this franchise are happy, it is a bit disappointing for Cars’ fan, whose release date has been pushed to June 21, 2019.
