Chritian Bale is gaining weight for the upcoming Biopic still untitled to play 76 year oldDick Cheney, the 46th Vice President. In a recent interview the actor said that he has turned to eating pastries to help him gain weight and mostly he is eating a lot of pies. The biopic is to be directed by Adam McKay and the star cast includes Steve Carell as Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld, Amy Adams will play Bale’s wife, Sam Rockwell as former President George W. Bush, and Bill Pullman as Nelson Rockefeller.
The Oscar winner star Chritian Bale is known for his dramatic body transformation for the roles he plays. From getting emaciated to all jacked up, there’s not one body type Bale can’t do. Bale lost almost 70 pounds for his role as a man named Trevor Reznikin with crippling insomnia 2004’s ‘The Machinist’ for which he became hugely famous and was critically acclaimed. Apparently the actor just ate an apple and a can of tuna for a day. According to sources, he lost 62 pounds (28 kg), reducing his body mass to 120 pounds (54 kg).The next transformation came for Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy beginning in 2005. Christian Bale not only gained his weight back but also added on 30 pounds of muscle weight to play Batman for which he had only six months
In 2010 for the movie ‘The fighter’ we saw the thin Bale return to play the role of Dickie Eklund, a recovering drug addict. For America hustle in 2013 he again gained weight and plumped up to play the 1970’s con-artist. The actor said that for the role of Irvine he ate lots of doughnuts and cheeseburgers and also used to pig out on anything sweet. Bale backed up 228 pounds from 185 pounds.
Christian Bale’s dramatic body transformations are mind boggling. The actor puts himself and his body through extreme sacrifices and all of this he does is to make the movies that he took part in more credible. The 43 actor in an interview once said that is getting harder for him because of his age to continue these dramatic transformation as it now takes longer for him to shed the weight that he gains during the course of his role than it used to when he was younger.
When he appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of his film Hostiles, he was quite unrecognisable. When asked about his changed body, the actor said that he is been eating a lot of pies. His build, the close-cropped haircut and the lightened eyebrow made him look quite like Dick Cheney, who he is to play.
Dick Cheney is said to be the most influential and powerful Vice-president in history. He was Vice President from 2001-2009 under George W. Bush. His policies changed the world. Adam Mckay and the casts are all gearing up for the movie to start the production. It is presumed that the film will release sometime in 2018.
