Valentine’s Day was the perfect occasion to release the first look of the female lead of the movie Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Shraddha Kapoor. She looked very bubbly and has a mischievous note in her look. But the best thing about the picture was that she is seen in a de-glam look and looks every bit the commoner who is plagued with electricity problems and long power cuts.
The film also features Yami Gautam and Shahid Kapoor, and this is the second time that Shahid and Shraddha will share the screen space after Haider. The crew who had started to shoot for the movie in the city of Tehri in Uttarakhand also shared their pictures from on-location shoot. Batti Gul Meter Chalu talks about the story of a common man’s fight against the power distribution companies.
This film will be the second venture of Shree Narayan Singh who is known for his critically-acclaimed “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”. The filming has already started from February 2018 and will be shot in extensive locations like Tehri, Rishikesh, Nainital, Mumbai and Delhi. The shooting will wrap up within May 2018.
Shahid will be seen in the role of a Garhwali lawyer from Uttarakhand who has picked up the Garhwali accent for shooting the movie. Sharaddha’s character in the movie is called Lalita Nautiyal aka Nauti, who will play a localite from Dehradun. And Yammi will be seen as a lawyer from New Delhi. Yammi took help from Hindi literature to prepare for the role.
The film is slated to release in August 2018.
