Debutant directors Abhishek and Meenakshii are gearing up for a film on reincarnation with Gargee Roychowdhury in the lead. This film will be an addition in the genre of reincarnation movies, a genre which boast of films like Jatishwar, Sonar Kella and Khudhito Pashan.
According to Meenakshii, who will be donning the cap of the director for the first time, the film she is about to direct will have overtones of noir and Gothic. The film will be set in two different eras – 1960s and the modern era. However, both the eras will have a common link. When there is a film on reincarnation, it always dwells on uncertainty and the unknown. As per Meenakshii, the film deals with the mist which makes things unclear and unfathomable at times. Once the mist clears, it is easier to see things in a clearer perspective.
Gargee will be playing the role of Rajeshwari, a mysterious character and the narrative will be a ‘paranormal romance’. Gargee, who is a spiritual person could connect with the narrative. When questioned about her idea of working on a new subject with a new director duo, she is of the opinion that she can afford to take risks at this point of her career.
As Gargee is a believer in life after death, Gargee has a strong intuition about her character in this movie. Often she has felt an instant strong connection with some of the people she has met over the years.
Utsab Mukherjee has written the script while Chirantan has scored the music of the film. Along with Gargee, this film also features newcomers Rishav along with other actors like Sudeshna Roy, Anindya Pulak Banerjee, Manali, Shaon and Soumitra Roy of Bhoomi.
