It is a long time since we have seen JP Dutta in the silver screen. The veteran director who is known for his war movies like Border and LOC Kargil is apparently back with his ambitious project ‘Paltan’ with an ensemble cast Arjun Rampal, Harshvardhan Rane, Sonu Sood, Siddhant Kapoor, Luv Sinha and Gurmeet Choudhary.
JP Dutta has explored some of the important moments of Indian war history through Border and LOC Kargil. But this time the war drama specialist will push the envelope and explore one of the important aspects of Indian history – Indo-China war of 1962.
According to JP Dutta, making movies on people who can take a bullet to their chest for their motherland is the best way to pay tribute. Without the armed forces, the nation would be unprotected. In a recent post in a social networking site, Luv Sinha has also mentioned that recently he had the opportunity to experience what a real soldier faces. It is an honour to be part of this prestigious project.
Arjun Rampal will also be seen in an important role in this multi-starrer. A major portion of the movie has been shot in Ladakh. Paltan like all other JP Dutta movies, revolve around men in uniform, their personal lives and how the families are affected when soldiers leave them behind for battlefield. While Border dealt with the love interest of individual soldiers, Paltan showcased the emotions of the siblings and parents.
Some of the other actors who will be seen in this movie are Monica Gill, Esha Gupta, Jackie Shroff, and Deepika Kakar.
The first poster of Paltan is out and the film is slated for a September 7 release.
