After their hit blockbuster Prakton, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta will team up for Koushik Ganguly’s Drishtikon. Kaushik Ganguly who has earlier helmed many award-winning films like Apur Panchali and Bishorjon is looking forward to work with the ace actors.
According to the director, none of the actors will carry their superstar baggage in this movie, they have been selected for the film simply because they suit the roles. Prosenjit is actually very happy to be paired with Rituparna once again. Prosenjit feels that it is an honour and privilege to work with a director of Kaushik’s caliber. Kaushik has stepped into the shoes of Rituparno effortlessly whose untimely death has left a huge void.
Kaushik has its own niche audience and almost every year his films are nominated for National Awards. The popular commercial actor has seen a lot of success; lately he has been picky about his roles. The ace director finds the audience of today more evolved. The directors now have the liberty to experiment with the stories and plots.
According to Kaushik, if the audience expects to see something different from this hit jodi, then they will not be disappointed. Prosenjit feels that one should not compare Drishtikon with Prakton. Both the films are different and should be treated in isolation.
It will be a treat to see both Prosenjit and Rituparna together again. Waiting for a new perspective in Drishtikon.
