Bengali films are often accused of copying from Bollywood, but there are many movies which were adapted from Bengali and many of us are not even aware of them. Here is a list of 5 movies which were originally made in Bengal but Bollywood borrowed it from there.
Chhoddobeshi starring Uttam Kumar and Madhavi is one of the first name that comes to our mind, when we speak of adaptations. The Bollywood version had Dharmendra and Sharmila Tagore in the lead and both the films were equally humorous.
Bawarchi-Galpo Holeo Sottyi
While Rabi Ghosh, who is known for his comic timing did an excellent work in Galpo Holeo Sottyi, his Bollywood version played by Rajesh Khanna failed to generate that much of attention to the film.

Directed by the same director, while Raj Kahini was a major hit and huge impact on Bengali Cine lovers, its Hindi adaptation starring Vidya Balan ended up with a thud.

A cult movie from Bengal, Bhooter Bhobisyot starring many eminent of the industry like Parambrata Chatterjee and the likes, was also remade in Bollywood. However Gang of Ghost failed to generate any interest in Bollywood
Nishi Padma-Amar Prem
Nishi Padma starring Uttam Kumar and Savitri was loved by most of the cine lovers in Bengal, but when this movie was adapted in Bollywood as Amar Prem, it became a major hit and loved by all and sundry.
