Let’s just say that 2017 has been the year of Rajkumar Rao, and with his interesting releases lined up this year, 2018 is soon going to be Mr. Rao’s finest year. He has redefined the concept of versatility in Bollywood; give him any character and he will put some of his brilliance in it. The latest is Omerta: Code of Silence which narrates the story of terrorist Ahmed Omar Saed Sheikh, directed by the critically acclaimed Hansal Mehta.
The ace director and the powerful actor have collaborated for many movies; the latest venture will focus on the 1994 kidnappings of the Westerners in India. Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh was the prime accused who served lifetime sentence for this crime.
It also narrates the plotting and kidnapping of the renowned journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002 and his subsequent murder which shook the entire world. Playing the antagonist Ahmed, Rajkumar Rao will expose the brutal, dreaded facade of the terrorist. Written by Mukul Dev and Hansal Mehta, this play promises to be quite interesting.
As the first poster of the film is released, audience is quite shaken by the intense look of the actor who sits bare bodied. According to Rao himself, this is one of the toughest characters till date. Some of the other actors who will be seen in this movie are Rupinder Nagra, Rajesh Tailang, Timothy Ryan Hickernell and Kewal Arora.
After the world premiere of Omerta at the Toronto International Festival, the film has received critical acclaim from all sectors. The trailer of the movie will be released on 14th March and the movie is slated for release on 20th April.
