7 Deadly Sins as Displayed in Movies

When it comes to entertainment, nothing can beat movies. They have all the elements which will keep you hooked to your seat and make you forget about all your real-life troubles for some moments. And when you consider the narrative, some movies excel, because it is the plot which makes it unique. They have explored themes which one of their kinds. Let’s talk about 7 movies which have explored the 7 deadly sins.

Let’s begin with Utsav, which is probably one of the best movies which depict the characteristic of lust. As a period drama, this movie has completely baffled everyone with its bold approach, and if there is anyone who has emerged victorious in this movie, it has to be the sensuality of Rekha.

Of course, when one is talking about the deadly sins, it is not easy to forget Neil Nitin Mukesh as the wrathful Edwin Rodrigues, Susana’s first husband in Saat Khoon Maaf. This Vishal Bharadwaj movie depicted the 7 deadly sins through the seven husbands of Susana.

It is hard to believe but our most beloved Disney characters are afflicted by the moral ills as well. Don’t we love Winnie the Pooh, but can we ignore the fact that he has an excessive love of honey which almost borders on the gluttony? The dude eats so much honey that at times he cannot even make out of the house of his friend Rabbit.

And when you think about pride, you can remember only one character Simba in Lion King. In the beginning, Simba is afflicted by pride. Scar in the movie is driven by envy. And Timon and Pumba demonstrate ‘slothful behavior’ through their not-a-care-in-the-world attitude.

And when we talk about the villains of Bollywood and Hollywood, they are all afflicted by the power of greed. From a Gabbar to a Mogambo to Shakaal to R.One, everyone is afflicted by greed. Some are greedy for power, some for a position, some for world domination and some for money.
