It’s just two weeks to go before ‘Durga Sohay’ hits the theatres, the start cast is leaving no stones
unturned to promote the film. The star cast of the female-oriented film recently visited the Simaaya
store in Triangular Park to kick off the movie promotions last week. The team included actresses
Debjani, Tanushree, Sohini and Sampurna.
“The film is all about courage. It is a family film and everyone must go and watch the film, which has
been directed by Arindam Sil “said Sohini, who is working with the director again after Byomkesh
The film is the story of a girl Durga who comes to the lavish North Kolkata house of the Basak family to
take care of a member. What follows is a series of problems for Durga at the home. The character’s grit
is shown in how she faces each issue and confronts them with courage.
“It was a very difficult character to portray and we have worked very hard” said Sarkar.
Debjani, who also stars in the film, said the audience will like the film as it is a family entertainment.
“The audience should judge the film’s story, directorial work and the performance of the actors. If they
like it, nothing like it” she said.
When asked about the other big budget films that are releasing around Poila Boisakh, Debjani added
that the budget of the film doesn’t matter if the audience appreciates the work.
About Masala films in the times of art cinema, Debjani said that masala films too are important for the
industry as their success determines the business of the industry.
Sohini requested the audience to watch the film in the theatres and not resort to pirated DVDs.
