Steven Spielberg is back with yet another blockbuster movie “The Post”, the movie that has already bagged 6 nominations in the Golden Globe awards is all set to release in India on January 12, 2018.
‘The Post’ is Steven Spielberg’s historical thriller drama of a chaos between the publisher of ‘The Washington’s Post’ Katherine Graham played by Meryl Streep, the first woman publisher of the major American newspapers, and the editor Ben Bradlee starring Tom Hanks for the publication of the news which they got a lead from New York Times exposing the involvement of America in the Vietnam War.
The movie is a socio political dramatic representation of the fight and unlikely partnership between the two stars on risking their career for exposing the long buried truth of America. Based on a real story, the movie symbolizes the important role media plays to expose the political corruption prevailing in that time at the 1970’s and the freedom of press to portray it.
According to Meryl Streep, the character of Graham depicts how difficult it was at that era for woman bosses to run a publishing house, when there were fewer woman representatives in government, civil services, media and law firms. It was a complicated job to rule a man’s world without being questioned or undermined.
The movie is the first alliance of Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep which is like a powerhouse of talent together on the big screen. This movie is a must watch for all those people out there who are a great fan of action, politics and history behind the freedom of American press.
