The speculations are ripe that there would be a third installment of the Tiger franchise in the near future. After the successful stint of “Tiger Zinda Hai”, that has ended its run at the box office with a collection of about 350 crores and thus emerging as one of the biggest hits of all times.
The first part “Ek Tha Tiger” released in 2012 starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif was directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films. It garnered huge praises and box office collections and making it as the second Bollywood movie to gross over 3 billion. Further, it went on to achieve a box office collection of 350 crores.
The second part of the Tiger franchise “Tiger Zinda Hai” released in 2017 was directed and co-written by Ali Abbas Zafar. It is one of the most expensive Bollywood movies of all time with a budget of above 200 crores. The box office collection for this movie in India, it grosses over 350 crores and worldwide over 550 crores making it as one of the highest grossing Bollywood movies of all times. In the latest movie “Tiger Zinda Hai”, the director won a lot of acclaims from the audience for making a chic thriller along the lines of Hollywood movies. The climax hinted about the possibility of yet another film in the Tiger franchise since it ends with a dialogue in the movie by the leading actor Salman Khan “Jab Bhi Yeh Desh Musibat Mein Hoga, Yaad Rakhna Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai’.
Now from the sources, we hear that a third installment of the Tiger franchise is coming on its way and the work on the script is already going on. The producer Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films had asked Ali Abbas Zafar to start working for the third part of Tiger once he finishes with “Bharat”. The Tiger franchise is one of the biggest franchises of Bollywood and Yash Raj Films are super charged up about this project as it would mark the end of the Tiger trilogy as it would be the last part that stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The director’s vision of the third part of Tiger is to make it a grand and contemporary international crossover, but it is too early to talk about it right now.
So, at last, seeing the mechanism of the director Ali Abbas Zafar, we can expect Tiger3 to arrive as early as Christmas 2020. But there are some speculations above that on our part.
