A middle aged husband, cheating on his family engrossed wife is a subject that has been hackneyed since time immemorial. Than why is it that actors like Tisca Chopra, Surveen Chawla and ace director Anurag Kashyap decided to act in a movie that once again tries to explore the same subject?
Directed by Mansi Jain, Chhuri is a 12 minutes long story that adds an interesting turn to the tried and tested subject. On a Sunday, when the husband fails to spend time with his family, the daughter accused Tisca Chopra for doing nothing about her father’s whereabouts. Tisca Chopra in her unrecognizable avatar looks silent and resigned, but soon she does something which leaves us amused.
After dropping their daughter to swimming class, Tisca Chopra decides to drop in at her husband’s much younger girlfriend’s place. When we all begin to expect that there will be a verbal outburst or at least retaliation, small talks begin between Tisca Chopra and Surveen Chawla. Caught between the acts Anurag Kashyap is seen hiding awkwardly in a closet, half-dressed while his wife and girlfriend negotiates his schedule. Tisca Chopra even goes to the extent of saying that she has no objection of her husband having an affair, because as a result of the affair, he has started grooming himself. And soon there is a revelation which leaves us all in jolts of laughter. If you have not watched this movie yet, do check it right now.
