Produced by Raj Chakraborty and directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee, ‘Noor Jahan’ is an Indo-Bangladesh joint venture. This joint venture will be co-produced by Raj Chakraborty Production of India, SVF Entertainment and Jazz Multimedia of Bangladesh.
This film will see a fresh pair in the lead: Puja Cherry and Adrit Roy along with a host of other actors like Tulika Basu and Rinku Rajguru. This film is a remake of the Marathi blockbuster Sairat. Keeping with the trend of Raj Chakraborty movies, this too will be a love story between two youngsters.
Originally, the film was scheduled to be released on September 1st, 2017, but the release was delayed because of a temporary ban on co-productions with Bangladesh. But now the film is ready to release on the Valentine’s Day weekend which is 16th February, 2018.
The music of the movie has already garnered interest; like the first number of the album “Shona Bondhu” was released on 20th July in 2017 which was a remake of the classic song by Abdul Gafur Hali. The second number ” Mon Boleche” is sung by Dilshad Nahar Kona and Imran Mahmudul. The music is composed by Savvy Gupta.
As Sairat is one of the biggest regional blockbusters of 2017, it is hard to recreate the magic of this movie which will retain the essence of the original. Raj Chakraborty is however quite optimistic about the entire venture. He feels that the leading pair has done a fantastic job and audience will be able to witness their chemistry on screen. Now, it is up to the audience to decide whether they will give a thumbs up or simply ignore this venture as just another futile attempt.
