One of the eagerly-awaited songs Ek Do Teen from Baghi 2 is finally out. Verdict? Well, it is difficult to match the steps of dance diva Madhuri Dixit. Featuring Jacqueline Fernandez, this song is said to be a tribute to Madhuri.
This film was originally choreographed by the ace dance director Saroj Khan, but this time it has been choreographed by Ganesh Acharya who incidentally was one of the background dancers in the original song. And the film’s director Ahmed Khan was Saroj Khan’s assistant for Tezaab.
Shreya Ghoshal has lent her voice for the new version. She was quite apprehensive about lending her voice for a song which is considered as one of Alka Yagnik’s best, but the new version has been quite a foot tapper.
The dance steps are absolutely new expect for Madhuri’s signature hook step. Compared to the original, the new version is just a teaser. The original Madhuri number was 7 minutes long which compared to the teaser is quite long.
Jacqueline has also been pretty apprehensive about recreating the original Ek Do Teen. She was nervous about the entire venture because recreating an iconic song like Ek Do Teen can bring flaks for all quarters.
But what is this new trend of recreating classic songs? Don’t you think that some songs are best left in their original version? In an ever-changing world, it is probably good to stick to oldies probably because as they say old is gold.
However, it is up to the audience to decide whether this song is a yay or nay!
